Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) for Hair Growth

The restorative functions of our own bodies are nothing short of amazing. We are able to heal ourselves, restore our energy through sleep and nutrition, and more. Sometimes, our bodies need a little help.

Platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) is a natural helping hand for men and women who are experiencing hair loss or would like to improve hair volume. Although this therapy has been used for decades in other manners, it has only recently been making noise in the beauty industry. And for good reason! PRP has shown to be effective in helping patients restore hair growth.

At Dr. Jennifer Levine’s Center for Plastic Surgery, we are excited to offer this life-changing, non-invasive procedure. Below, you will find facts regarding PRP. Schedule your treatment today.

What is PRP?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a component retrieved from your own blood and then injected into the scalp. It contains the essential proteins to promote healing and formation of new cellular growth, including hair.

How is the PRP treatment performed?

A small amount of your blood is drawn and then the PRP is isolated by centrifuge. While the blood is separated, you will be prepped for the treatment. Once ready, PRP is injected into the scalp. The injections only take a couple of minutes.

How many treatments do I need?

We recommend 3-4 treatments spaced out a month apart for optimal results.
