Superficial, benign pigmented lesions such as age spots, sun damage, Rosacea, brown and red spots can be treated effectively by Nordlys system. Before removing any lesion, it is important to confirm that it is not malign, or cancerous.
Nordlys directs pulses of light into the epidermis, or superficial layer of the skin. The light is then absorbed by melanin in the pigmented lesion and is then converted into heat. The heat eliminates the keratinocytes, which are cells within which melanin is stored.
Yes. The light produced by the system is controlled to ensure that the right amount of energy is used and only the targeted tissue is affected.
