Perlane, Restylane & Resylane Silk

The Restylane family of fillers consists of Restylane®, Perlane® and Restylane® Silk. Each is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that visibly reduces the appearance of facial wrinkles and folds, or adds fullness to your lips (Restylane® or Restylane® Silk). To determine the right filler for you, please schedule a complimentary consultation today.
Restylane®

Restylane and Restylane-L brings results immediately by adding volume to smooth away wrinkles. It is commonly used for wrinkles around the following areas: - Nasolabial folds – the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth - Below the nose and above the upper lip - Corners of the mouth - Marionette lines – the area between the corners of your mouth and the jawline Both, Restylane and Restylane-L are formulated to act like your body’s own hyaluronic acid, which is eventually broken down. The difference between the two is the addition of lidocaine, an anaesthetic, in the Restylane-L formulation for added comfort.
Perlane®

Similar to Restylane, Perlane consists of hyaluronic acid and adds volume to the facial skin around the lips to smooth out wrinkles. However, Perlane contains larger particles and is injected deeper into the skin than Restylane, making it a great option for more severe facial wrinkles, such as severe nasolabial folds. If you are concerned with discomfort, Perlane-L contains lidocaine. Patients allergic to lidocaine should not use Perlane-L.
Restylane® Silk

Restylane® Silk is the newest FDA-approved addition to the Restylane® family. It contains smaller, smoother particles than the rest of the Restylane® fillers to provide subtle lip enhancement and smooth lines around the mouth.

How long does a treatment take?

A typical treatment takes 15 – 30 minutes, depending on the areas being treated. Depending on your goals, you may need follow up treatments.

Is it painful?

Restylane-L and Perlane-L contain lidocaine to keep you comfortable during treatment. Some patients may feel a slight discomfort, depending on their pain threshold.

How long do the results last?

Results can last up to a year.

How long is the recovery process?

Restylane® fillers provide immediate results with no downtime. Immediately after the treatment, you may experience redness, pain, tenderness, swelling, bruising, itching and/or discoloration. These side effects typically last less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and up to 2 weeks in the lips.

Are there any risks?

As with any injection procedure, there is a small risk of infection. We take great care to ensure that this risk is minimized. Any patient with a known allergy to lidocaine should not use Restylane-L or Perlane-L, however is able to use Restylane®.
